Copper is lucky to be alive, and she knows it. This poor 3-year old female chow chow was chained and abandoned when a family moved away. Neighbors threw food over the fence for two months. Copper stayed that way - no shelter, no water bowl, through ice and snow. When her abuse was reported to us, we couldn't get to her fast enough.
After several months of rehab, we feel like Copper is ready to go to a real home where she can get all of the love and affection that was denied her for so long. Copper is sweet and gentle. She gets along with other dogs and seems completely uninterested in cats. She enjoys going on long walks in her foster home. She is very appreciative of any gesture of affection.
Chows are very special dogs. We would prefer that Copper be adopted by a family familiar with the breed. If you are interested in adopting Copper, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
