Bella & her brother & sisters was able to nurse on Mom, the first day, so they did get their colostrum. Unfortunatly their Mom did not have any milk after that. They were bottle fed formula, so needless to say they are very very used to being handled and played with. This was probably the hardest job I have ever done. They're way too big for a play pen now, but they still live in my kitchen, in 2 x-pens put together.
I am a firm believer in socialization. These babies have been intoduced to all ages of people, a large assortment of farm animals, other dogs, large & small. (but no cats, I don't have any cats) They are used to all sorts of household noises.
Mom & Dad are both wonderful dogs with very good temperments. They both came out of AKC registered stock, but they kind of fell in my lap so to speak so I was unable to get AKC papers on them. Mom is a very nice example of the breed. I would have loved to have shown her in the breed ring. Dad does not have the quality as Mom doe
