CavaChons are a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Bichon. They are smaller than most Spaniel mixes, averaging about 15 pounds. The CavaChon and Cockapoo are very similar. Cavapoos are generally smaller than Cockapoos and are well suitable for small living spaces. The CavaChon has a flatter head than that of the Cockapoo, will be somewhat shedding (probably low shedding) and generally has a silkier coat. We also keep the full length tails on the Cavapoos, unlike the docked tails of the Cockapoos. CavaChon have been called a “love sponge” because they are extremely affectionate lap dogs. They are good with children and safe with the elderly and handicapped. Cavapoos bond easily and are very adaptable. They can be overly trusting, not realizing that they should stay shy of a more aggressive dog. The CavaChon is one of the friendliest canines and very playful. They have a low to medium energy level.
